If you’ve followed Bearden Football during the 2018 and 2019 seasons you probably remember Tillery Phillips. She’s served as our honorary co-Captain during the Morristown West game in 2018 and again at the Dobyns-Bennett game in 2019. Tillery was paired with our former kicker, Connor Cross, a Kohl’s Kick-It Champion who was raising money to fight childhood cancers. Even though Connor graduated, we still consider her family as part of the Bearden Football family.

This Friday night we’re hosting Alex’s Lemonade Stand in honor of Tillery. Instead of lemonade, we’ll be selling Ham n’ Goody’s lemon cookies, 2 prepackaged cookies for $5 (you can always pay more ; )). All proceeds go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand, which raises money to fund research for better treatments and cures for childhood cancer. They also provide support programs to families of children with cancer. And we’re challenging Farragut to help us “Sweeten the Rivalry.” When fans make their donations for cookies, their money can go to either Bearden or Farragut and the team with the most donations will be recognized at halftime.

What can you do to help?
• Plan on buying cookies on Friday night!
• Let your Farragut friends know that they can support their team by buying cookies on behalf of their team.
• Look for social media posts on Facebook and Twitter. Share them to help get the word out. (We’ll also have a link to an online donation site in case people want to help but can’t make it to the game.)
